Mother's Day Cricut Workshop: Paper Flowers

Have you been thinking about getting a Cricut Machine, but want to try it out first?
Have one, but don’t know where to start?

This Cricut workshop is a great intro for beginners, and will inspire some fresh ideas for those already family with Cricut crafting. Come learn how to design and create paper flowers for Mother’s Day! Our friendly staff will guide you through using our Cricut machine and Cricut Design software. Then, use quilling tools to turn colour craft paper into beautiful paper flowers! These lovely flowers are beautiful to decorate gifts and cards.

Make mom something she’ll cherish!

Celebrate Star Wars Day with your friends, at the Near North Makerspace!
Drop in on May the 4th, between 4pm and 6pm to make a Star Wars themed tote bag! Turn Star Wars fan art, an old comic book, magazine or book cover into your own custom tote. Use our scanner and design software to digitize your images and scan artwork. Create a collage, or even use our iPads to draw! Then, print your design using our sublimation printer and transfer it to a tote bag with our heat press.

Walk away with a tote bag that’s so wizard, Ani!

Totes are first come, first serve. You may also BYOT (bring your own tote).

About this workshop:

Upcycle your clothes!

Bring in clothing items and give them new life with our clothing modification workshop. Add embroidery with our digital embroidery sewing machine, or use our sublimation printer to transfer designs onto fabrics!

This Digi-Guild workshop will also take place on Wednesday the 13th, during the evening, from 6pm to 8pm, in case you can’t make it on Sunday.

Just pay $5 per garment, and turn it into something NEW!

About this workshop

Spend this family day making something special, together!
Our friendly staff will guide your through using our button maker and Cricut machine to turn your designs or photos into buttons. These buttons will be sure to make great keepsakes, along with the great memories you’ll make together.
 
Price includes one full sheet of button designs. But don’t worry, it’s easy to pay for additional sheets for just $2 per sheet. Includes everything you need to make buttons!

Laser Cutter Workshop: Stamp Making

About this workshop

Create custom rubber-like stamps using our laser cutter’s raster engraving mode. You’ll learn how to engrave your design onto special stamp-friendly rubber sheets. After a quick wash and mounting on a wooden block or acrylic handle, your stamp is ready to ink.

Use them for:

  • Custom stationery – personalize cards, envelopes, and notebooks

  • Fabric & textile printing – stamp tote bags, tea towels, or clothing

  • Gift wrap & tags – create unique patterns for presents

  • Art journals & zines – add repeating motifs or textures

  • Small business branding – stamp logos on packaging or thank-you notes

Digital Creator North Bay and The Near North Makerspace presents the second Super Smash Bros. Tournament of the 2026 Spring/Summer season.

Players of all ages and skill levels are welcome to compete in this fun community tournament. Sign up for 1v1 and 2v2 brackets. Win the cash pool, plus cool prizes! Thank you to Dark Horse Comics and DJ’s Collectibles for their generous support of our tournaments!

Player registrations are cash only. Drinks and snacks can be purchased for $2 with cash, debit, or credit.

About this event

Learn how to make your own custom keychain using our laser cutter. Open to all ages and skill levels. This free workshop is in partnership with Digital Creator North Bay. Our program coordinator will guide you through the process of designing and producing a custom acrylic keychain. All materials provided.
